Virtual Meeting with new Design Consultant
Last week our team received a first set of preliminary site plan and floor plan sketches from Presbytera Mirela Tudora, our Orthodox design consultant. Our team members each reviewed the sketches and compared them with our design requirements, so that we might be able to provide comments on the designs. The Design Team held a virtual meeting on Tuesday evening (3/5) to discuss our thoughts. In the end, we came up with a list of things that we liked about the design proposals, as well as some areas that we would like to explore alternatives. This feedback will be communicated to Pres. Mirela ahead of her visit to HTOC this coming weekend to attend a project kick-off meeting. She plans to join our Design Team for a meeting on Saturday morning; other invited participants include Micah Martin, our architect, and Andrew Wells, general contractor with RPM Partners. The goals of this meeting are 1) to provide an opportunity for in-person introductions among the Design Team and consultants, 2) to allow all of our consultants to visit and walk the Cornwallis Rd property, and 3) to begin the preliminary design work needed for both the overall site plan and the building(s) themselves. The Design Team is very excited by the initial sketch designs we have seen from Pres. Mirela, and we look forward to developing those concepts further. Please keep the Design Team and our design consultants in your prayers, and stay tuned for future updates!
