Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church is a parish of the Orthodox Church in America, Diocese of the South.

  • Primatial Bishop

    Metropolitan Tikhon has served as the first hierarch of the Orthodox Church in America since fall of 2012. Metropolitan Tikhon has the task not only of serving as the ruling bishop of Washington, DC, but also of coordinating the work of the OCA dioceses in accordance with the canons of the Church. Through His Beatitude, our local Church maintains communion with the other Orthodox churches around the world.

  • Ruling Bishop

    Archbishop Alexander (Golitzin) was elected Bishop of Dallas, the South and the Bulgarian Diocese on March 30, 2016. He is the shepherd and overseer of our parish, as well as a member of the Holy Synod of the OCA. His Eminence holds degrees from UC Berkeley, St Vladimir’s Seminary, and Oxford University (D.Phil.), and is professor emeritus of Marquette University.

  • Parish Rector

    Fr. Patrick is a graduate of St Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary and has served as the priest in charge of Holy Transfiguration since March 2017. He serves under the direction and blessing of Archbishop Alexander and is charged by His Eminence with overseeing the spiritual life of Holy Transfiguration through serving the mysteries of the Church and many other forms of pastoral leadership and care. Fr Patrick is married to Matuskha Lauren and they have four young children.

  • Attached Deacon

    Having been an Orthodox Christian for over 25 years and upon completion of the OCA's Diaconal Vocations Program, Fr Dcn Michael was ordained to the Holy Diaconate by Archbishop Alexander on our parish's titular feast day in 2022. In addition to his liturgical duties, Dcn Mike teaches church school, assists with the youth group, occasionally teaches the adult catechism class, and is a member of the Building Design Team. He continues his service to others in his secular vocation as a practicing physician. He is married to Matushka Tracy and has three sons.
