Worship

Come, let us exult in the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to God our Savior.

Psalm 94 [95]

Worship is in the heart of every created being.

At Holy Transfiguration, we worship God in accordance with earliest Church traditions through fasting, vigil, and prayer. Regular attendance and participation in Liturgical Services is central to Orthodox Christian life. We offer regular weekly services and many opportunities to celebrate the Feasts of the Church throughout the Liturgical year. You can participate by attending the services, singing in the choir, or assisting in the facilitation of the services with one of our teams (servers, greeters, etc…). Contact us for inquiries.

All of our services are offered in English and follow the typikon (i.e. “rule set”) endorsed by the Orthodox Church in America. Seating is available for those who are unable to stand for the length of the service.

The first service of the Liturgical day, Vespers is a prayerful and contemplative service filled with psalms and hymnography celebrating venerated Saints and Feasts from Church traditions. Vespers services are offered every Wednesday and Saturday evening.

During the Divine Liturgy, the Orthodox Christian Faithful partake of the Body and Blood of Christ through reception of the Eucharist*. Divine Liturgy is served every Sunday morning and on the mornings of Great Feasts.

*Note: The Eucharist is reserved for those Orthodox Christians who are at peace with their neighbors have prepared themselves through fasting and a recent confession.
